Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Arrhythmia Algorithm Engineer to develop and optimize detection algorithms for implantable cardiac monitoring devices, including insertable/implantable cardiac monitors, implantable loop recorders, and related cardiac rhythm management platforms.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with ICM/ILR products or algorithms from Medtronic, Abbott, or Boston Scientific, and has a strong background in ECG signal processing, arrhythmia detection, and medical device algorithm development.

Responsibilities

Develop, improve, and validate algorithms for detecting cardiac arrhythmias from implantable device ECG signals, including:

Atrial fibrillation / atrial flutter
Bradycardia
Tachycardia
Pause detection
PVCs / ectopy
Noise, artifact, and false-positive reduction

Analyze large datasets of real-world implantable device ECG recordings to improve algorithm sensitivity, specificity, and clinical performance.

Collaborate with clinical, firmware, systems, data science, and regulatory teams to translate clinical requirements into robust algorithm specifications.

Support verification, validation, performance testing, documentation, and regulatory submissions for medical device algorithms.

Required Qualifications

Experience developing or validating arrhythmia detection algorithms for implantable cardiac monitors, implantable loop recorders, pacemakers, ICDs, or other cardiac rhythm management devices
Direct experience with ICM/ILR systems from Medtronic, Abbott, or Boston Scientific
Strong knowledge of ECG morphology, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and arrhythmia classification
Experience with digital signal processing, feature extraction, classification, and statistical performance evaluation
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar technical computing languages
Familiarity with medical device development processes, design controls, verification and validation, and regulated product environments
Ability to work cross-functionally with clinical and engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with subcutaneous ECG signal processing
Knowledge of AF detection, R-R interval analysis, P-wave/QRS detection, noise rejection, and false-positive mitigation
Experience using annotated ECG databases and clinical adjudication workflows
Familiarity with FDA, IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, or related medical device standards
Experience taking algorithms from concept through clinical validation and product release
Background in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field
