Little Harbor Club is seeking an enthusiastic individual with an exceptional eye for detail to ensure a pleasing and pristine environment for our members.
After a nearly 40 year tenure, our current head of housekeeping will be retiring from a full time schedule . The candidate will have a chance to work alongside her, learning about the Club and operations. This is an excellent transitional, long-term opportunity.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Daily upkeep of all hallways, stairways, dining rooms, lounges, lavatories, locker rooms, and common areas (cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and or mopping).
- Wash windows and common area doorways as needed.
- Interior litter and refuse removal; empty and sanitize trash containers. (Kitchen containers excluded.)
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Spot check all areas and stock all toiletries, soaps, and lotions in the lavatories and locker rooms.
- Assist with the cleaning of Club offices, including daily trash removal.
- Order and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies used by housekeeping on campus and in employee housing.
- Order and maintain inventory of rental linens as listed. Coordinate pickup, delivery, distribution, and storage. --Kitchen and bar towels, aprons, bath towels, rugs—in conjunction with chef and bar manager. -- Pool towels--in conjunction and coordination with the head lifeguard.
- Maintain inventory of uniform rentals.
- Assist with opening and closing of employee housing: --Prepare employee housing for occupancy. --Coordinate with the maintenance supervisor regarding needed repairs/replacement and ensure items are completed prior to move-in. --Perform pre- and post-occupancy room inspections with employees.
- Maintain a list of needed repairs for the GM, AGM, and Maintenance Supervisor.
- Create and manage a weekly work schedule to meet labor goals.
- Monitor hours as activity demands.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers and other personnel.
- Proven track record of leadership and management amongst team members.
- Must use independent judgment (following prescribed procedures) to determine actions to be taken, priorities, emergencies, etc.
- Must be able to deal with moderate to high levels of stress due to meeting deadlines, reprioritizing activities and supervising employees.
- Must have a complete understanding and working knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures and ensure departmental compliance.
- Must be proficient in English.
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.

Our family-oriented club serves lunch and dinner seven days a week. Members enjoy tennis, swimming, private parties, and a variety of special events during our extremely busy season.
